Built to Transform Insurance Agent Networking
American Agents Collaborative was launched in 2025 to turn traditional insurance agent networking into a national referral system for agents and financial planners. Our founding goals were to end lead-chasing, cold calling, to decrease advertising expenses, and provide comprehensive educational courses, hosted by industry veterans. We are invested in forming a structured, streamlined referral network that creates consistent sources of income, increases customers’ experiences through leveraging professionals’ skill sets, and open coast-to-coast business opportunities.
A Referral Network Defined by Exclusivity
AAC does not sell leads it sources internally or purchases from third-party vendors. We believe the most value and successful outcomes for all parties are the product of two professionals working to help their customers and build their businesses.
When you’re not competing for the same lead and are instead leveraging one another’s specialized knowledge, you are able to expand your lines of business and focus on building trust, creating lasting relationships, and closing more business.
AAC is committed to reducing competition and increasing revenue through practical, innovative, and results-driven strategies.
We believe business is better when it’s built on trust, collaboration, and integrity. By working collectively, our community can grow stronger, serve customers better, and scale businesses.
Our Founder
After nearly 23 years in disability rights and having held several positions in healthcare facilities, our founder, Tim DaGiau, received his master’s in Healthcare Administration and went on to work in mental health. Soon thereafter, he began selling ACA, Medicare Advantage, and under 65 private plans part-time. Struggling to create a book of business at first, Tim established a small, local referral network with fellow agents. Witnessing the value and close rate that could burgeon from working in tandem, he invested into creating a platform to foster a national referral network of Agents to grow their businesses.
Insurance Agent Networking & Referral Questions, Answered
What is an insurance agent referral network?
An insurance agent referral network is a group of licensed agents and financial professionals who send each other business instead of competing for the same prospects. When a client needs coverage outside your lines, you refer them to a member who specializes in it, and that member does the same for you. At AAC, those referrals happen nationally, through one platform.
Does AAC sell leads?
No. AAC does not sell leads sourced internally or purchased from third-party vendors. Every opportunity on the platform comes from another member who already spoke with that client. That’s the difference between buying a list and receiving a warm introduction from a professional who vouched for you.
How do referral fees work?
Members negotiate referral fees directly with each other on a case-by-case basis. AAC does not set the rate or take a cut of the fee. You and the receiving agent agree on the terms before the referral is passed, in line with your state’s licensing and compensation rules.
What does "trading clients" mean?
Trading is a mutual referral. Two members send each other clients who need coverage outside their own specialties, so both books grow. For example, a Medicare-focused agent and a commercial P&C agent can each serve clients the other can’t, rather than turning that business away.
Who can join American Agents Collaborative?
AAC is built for licensed insurance agents and financial professionals across the United States, whether you’re independent, captive, or part of a larger agency. Members come from many lines of business, including ACA, Medicare, life, health, property and casualty, and financial planning.
How is this different from general insurance agent networking groups?
Most networking groups are local, meet on a fixed schedule, and end at the handshake. AAC is a national platform with tools built for the follow-through: search agents by specialty and location, message them directly, pass referrals, trade clients, and use the community forums for advice between conversations.
Can I find agents in other states?
Yes. Members search the directory by specialty and location, which means you can serve clients who move or own property outside your licensed states by partnering with a member who’s licensed there, instead of referring that business away for nothing.
What courses and education does AAC offer?
Membership includes unlimited live courses and seminars hosted by industry veterans, covering sales, product knowledge, and practice growth. Education is part of membership, not a separate purchase.
